Jane Golub STEM Fund

The Jane Golub STEM Fund increases access to miSci’s educational programs for underserved youth, either through free or discounted admissions for school programming (virtual, outreach, in-museum programs) or reduced/waived tuition for school break and summer camps.

Why miSci?

Museums have a powerful influence on early childhood education. Children who participate in informal STEM learning experiences, like those delivered by miSci, demonstrate higher achievement in reading, math, and science and are more likely to pursue STEM careers. Museums deliver fun, hands-on, place-based learning experiences designed to immerse children in the creative process of science and the exhilaration of discovery. These experiences help children visualize themselves in STEM careers. Your support of the Jane Golub STEM Fund will allow miSci to provide these valuable STEM experiences to all children in our community, regardless of their race or economic situation.

Value for Your Organization

In addition to providing funding for high-impact STEM education programs and initiatives that promote equity in science education and inspire broader engagement by students historically underrepresented in scientific fields, your generosity will be recognized via press release to all local media outlets, name/logo placement on our website, mentions on miSci’s social media channels, acknowledged on signage in the Museum, etc.

Jane Golub was an iconic business and philanthropic leader in the Capital Region. Jane’s commitment to her adopted hometown of Schenectady was legendary. Jane championed efforts dedicated to improving the health and welfare of women and children in the Capital Region. She served on innumerable boards, committees, and capital campaigns for scores of organizations, and was a miSci trustee for over 15 years. Jane’s love of Schenectady and education helped catapult miSci into the regional science museum it is today.
